High Five… Foodie Favorite!

My favorite foodie finds gets me excited, especially when I can see the true craftmanship behind the cuisine being curated. Living in hill country was challenging at first to discover the best dining option. It is no surprise that I had to get out of town to chase what would tempt my taste buds. I was on the search for a simple, fresh, and elevated option for lunch. Most places seemed to cater to the idea of a plain palate and no personality when it came to menu selection. Once a casual coffee shop, High’s Café & Store, casual eatery is the place to put Comfort, TX on the map in my mind. With it’s inspiring fresh flavors, seasonal soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts it’s no wonder I was inspired. I think it is so fitting that it rests in the sweet little historic town of Comfort, TX. When you pull around the corner onto High Street, you better not blink or you will find yourself out of town really quick. I had to taste the difference everyone was talking about to decide if it was just hype among the locals or was this a true foodie favorite. I chose the salmon crostini because it was super enticing with the fresh ingredients. It was delicious, sprinkled with the perfect amount of dill to put it over the top and creamy combination of cream cheese and capers. It was exactly what I was craving to keep me coming back for more. This cute café has a lot of charm and a lot to be proud of as an exclusive eatery in the area. Great atmosphere, great food, and fantastic service is a must in my book to make the connection from just food to fabulous. High’s Café continues to promote progress with cooking classes, creative menu selections, and a community of love for comfort.
